In 2001, after years of dreaming, Patty Knouse finally realized her dream and became co-owner of a beautiful tearoom and gift shop. For 3 years she learned and evolved as a proprietor of that business. Ultimately, a new dream of running her own tearoom, and making it a family affair, evolved. 

Until recently, Patty’s daughter, Nicole Freshwater, had been employed in a full-time office job. Nicole also longed for a business of her own. She had a jewelry-making hobby that she hoped to transform into a full-time occupation. Around Christmas in 2005, she decided to make her dream a reality and gave up her full-time job. 

The most important things they collected were ideas. There were ideas for themed teas, ideas for displays, and ideas for decorating; just to name a few. The ideas were piling up and threatening to overflow when, after months of searching, the perfect location was found. Perrysville was to be the home of AntiquiTea. This was an answer to prayer because Patty’s roots are in the North Hills and she always wished to have her business in the area. 

In the summer of 2006, AntiquiTea was born. The gift shops are a wonderful place to gather all of a tea-lover’s needs. All of the teas served in the tearoom are available for purchase in loose form. The rooms are full of delightful treasures and many one-of-a-kind items. The tearoom boasts a magnificent selection of teas, sandwiches, soups, and desserts. You can even make reservations for Afternoon Tea with your friends and family, where Patty, Nicole and their remarkable staff will serve you tea in true Victorian fashion!
